The Georges Pompidou Prize
 

The Georges Pompidou Prize is intended to bring to public attention a work written and published in French and which is an illustration of the French language. This prize w as awarded for the first time in 1980. It is awarded each year by jury.

Award of the Georges Pompidou Prize

In 2003, the jury conferred the prize on Mr Pierre Dax. The prize was presented to Mr Pierre Dax by Mr Pierre Toubert from the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres on Monday 8 December 2003 in the Orsay Museum in Paris.

In 2002, the jury which was presided over by French Ambassador Bertrand Dufourcq awarded the prize to Mr Thierry de Montbrial , a member of the Institute and General Director of I.F.R.I., for his work L'Action et le système monde . The prize was presented by Bertrand Dufourcq on 14 November 2002.

In 2001, the jury which was presided over by Alexandre Lamfalussy, awarded the prize to Mr François Crouzet , Professor Emeritus in contemporary history at the Sorbonne University in Paris for his work Histoire de l'économie européenne (1000-2000).

In 2000, the jury which was presided over by Jean-Louis Prat awarded the prize to Serge Lemoine , professor of the history of art at the Sorbonne University in Paris and head conservator of the Grenoble museum. It was presented by Pierre Messmer, Chancellor of the Institut de France, former Prime Minister and president of the Georges Pompidou Association.
